New America’s Open Markets Program seeks applicants with a strong interest in business and political economy and skills in communications and research for a paid summer 2017 full-time internship. The intern will primarily assist the program with research and communications work to help develop and expand the program’s reach and public profile. This will include list-building, social media engagement, gathering clips and news on antitrust, business, and consolidation news, and general research tasks. This job is perfect for someone interested in pursuing a career in policy, politics, media, writing, or communications. Third and fourth year undergraduate students or individuals with equivalent work experience are encouraged to apply.
The Open Markets Program is dedicated to studying and reporting on effective antitrust and anti-monopoly policy, primarily in the U.S. We do so by researching and writing about consolidation, monopolization, and political economy in a variety of industries and markets–from food and agriculture to eyeglasses to pharmaceuticals.
Please submit a cover letter describing your experience and why you are interested in this specific position, current resume and a brief (no more than three 3 pages) writing sample. Deadline to apply is May 1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; early applications are encouraged.
