The Open Technology Institute (OTI) works at the intersection of technology and policy to ensure that every community has equitable access to digital technology and its benefits, with a focus on ensuring universal access to an internet that is both open and secure. OTI’s staff includes noted experts who work closely with a diverse team of lawyers, policy experts, technologists, social scientists, and data analysts, bringing a unique multi-disciplinary approach to its social justice-driven mission. OTI is housed within New America, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute that invests in new thinkers and new ideas to address the next generation of challenges facing the United States.

In this full-time position, you’ll work closely with OTI’s Director, supporting his scheduling and correspondence, tracking progress on projects, submitting expense reports, and handling event and meeting logistics as necessary.
Additionally, you’ll provide critical support to OTI’s Senior Communications Manager and Operations Director. Communications activities include drafting content for OTI’s social media network, drafting and editing blog posts, assisting with live events in New America’s state of the art events space and elsewhere, and other outreach activities. Other operational tasks include hiring coordination and onboarding support, coordinating staff meetings, staff retreats, and other similar tasks.
